No single speed test will indicate the capability of your connection under all conditions. For comparable results, keep the device, connection type and test time constant.

Basic approach

Browser-based measurement; It shows the combined behavior of the client, local network, internet path and test server. Download and upload may hit different bottlenecks. Background downloads, VPN, and processor load can also affect the observed speed.

Application steps

  1. First take an initial measurement via Ethernet; then compare with Wi-Fi on the same device.
  2. Cloud backup and save or pause large downloads in a controlled manner.
  3. Take several measurements at different times and report the median and range; Don't just choose the highest result.

Practical example

Seeing 450 Mbps in the morning wired test and 90 Mbps in the evening Wi-Fi test does not alone prove ISP density; two variables changed simultaneously. Repeating the same wired condition in the evening provides a more meaningful comparison.

Interpret the result correctly

Connection speed and application download speed do not have to be equal. Add the measurement method to the results report. If contract evaluation is to be carried out, also check the provider's measurement conditions; A single screenshot is not a root cause analysis.
