Methodology

How IPScans measures your connection

Every reading is computed from real browser network streams with zero simulated numbers.

Multi-stream transfer with warm-up discard

Four parallel HTTP streams saturate high-capacity links while discarding the initial 800 ms TCP slow-start window so only steady-state throughput (bits / 1e6 / s) is counted.

Idle RTT, jitter & loaded latency

Ten sequential uncached probes establish minimum and median idle ping plus mean consecutive jitter, followed by concurrent probes during transfers to measure bufferbloat under load.

Sample variance & stability analysis

Continuous throughput samples are evaluated via their coefficient of variation (CV) and latency variance to grade real-world line stability.

Results may vary based on browser and network conditions.

Scanning a local network?

Browsers can't see devices on your LAN. IPscans+ for Windows discovers every device, port and service on your network.
